How do I adjust the belts? How do I change the pulleys?
The correct adjustment of the straps.
In this video you can see how the straps are adjusted.
The correct strap adjustment.
The correct adjustment of the straps to your dog is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED! Proper fit and adjustment will ensure that the goggles stay in place and are as comfortable as possible for your dog. It is unlikely that you will be able to adjust the straps PERFECTLY the first time - it will likely take a few tries before you have everything adjusted so that the goggles fit securely, comfortably and functionally.
Adjusting the chin strap optimally
Make sure that the elastic part of the chin strap fits snugly under the dog's chin. It should not be stretched when your dog has his mouth closed, nor should it be loose. It should have just a tiny bit of tension. When your dog opens his mouth, the elastic will stretch. When properly adjusted, the goggle should stay in place and your dog should be able to move his jaw fully. To adjust this part of the strap, move the plastic buckle under the chin either closer to the elastic (tighter) or further away from the elastic (looser).
Buckle behind the ears
Guide the ends of the straps up and behind the dog's ears and close the buckle.
Side straps are the key
Adjusting the side straps can make a big difference in Rex Specs fit and performance. Adjust the side straps so that the main strap forms a small angle. This will hold the goggles firmly against the dog's forehead and prevent them from slipping on the dog's face. Adjust the main strap accordingly, as the adjustment of the side straps will affect the length of the main strap.
Here you can see how quickly and easily you can change the lenses and how flexible and unbreakable the Rex Specs is.
It is best to remove the top first. When installing, first insert the glass into the grooves at the bottom and then work upwards over the sides. There are small lugs in the upper part of the frame, which are pressed into the corresponding notches in the glass with light pressure. Don't worry, the glass and frame are flexible. Nothing can break as long as you do not use sharp or pointed tools.
How stable are the lenses of the Rex Specs?
This is the ANSI Z87.1 test. This specifies the loads a pair of safety glasses must withstand to meet this standard. The projectile (16 grams) hits the polycarbonate lens at 270 Km/h. The pictures speak for themselves and show once again the top quality of Rex Specs dog goggles.
Advantages of Rex Specs sunglasses for dogs
All lenses, including the clear ones, have the UV400 standard (99.9% UV-A and UV-B protection). UV protection is important not only for sick dog eyes. In the mountains even without snow from an altitude of about 1000 m and at watersites the exposure is the highest
Warm air that forms behind the lens can escape upwards. At the same time, the mesh fabric prevents foreign objects from getting inside the goggles. Dust, sand or even insects stay outside
In summer, most dogs want to cool off in the water and love to swim. With the Rex Specs this is no problem, the secure hold guarantees that the goggles are not lost in the water. Penetrating water flows off immediately and thus free vision is guaranteed.
The 7 mm thick and circumferential padding consists of a foam on which a soft flow fabric is applied and thus ensures a very good wearing comfort. Your dog can use / wear the goggles for many hours at a time.
The flexible adjustable strap system is also part of the wearing comfort. The straps can be individually adjusted for the head shape and size of your dog. Pressure points and friction points are prevented. The chin strap has an elastic area. Panting, eating, drinking and barking are no problem.
The spherical lens provides good all-round visibility and a field of view adapted for your dog. The large distance between the dog's eye and the lens ensures good ventilation and provides space for fur and touch hairs
The up to 3mm thick polycarbonate lenses protect against foreign bodies and are shatterproof
As long as your dog does not bite the frame, it is almost indestructible. The frame is light and flexible and can withstand a lot of stress.
Included 1 x Clear + 1 x Smoke lens.
Rex Specs are new to your dog - practice, patience and persistence will help him and you get used to the goggles.
Remove the lenses from the goggles the first few times you try to wear them. It will help your dog get used to the goggles without being distracted by the lens.
Keep the first few attempts at wearing the goggles short (not all day) and make sure your dog is busy - take your dog for a walk on a leash, let him catch his toy, or whatever you think is the most appropriate activity and distraction. Also, make sure the dog doesn't take his goggles off. He will get used to wearing them!
Once your dog has gotten used to wearing the glasses, you can put in the clear lens. Then, insert the tinted lens. All lenses offer up to 100% UVA and UVB protection.
Customize Rex Specs:
Adjust the retainer straps to fit your dog. A perfect fit will keep the goggles from slipping and make wearing them as comfortable as possible for your dog.
Make sure that the elastic strap on the muzzle is not too tight and not too loose.
Your dog should have complete freedom of movement around the muzzle and jaw.
Make sure the side straps are tight enough so that there is a slight angle on the main strap.
